Junior 3D designer — exhibition, experiential & spatial

Siyun Zheng

I design and build sensor-responsive spatial objects and environments — drawn in Rhino and Fusion 360, then cut, printed and assembled by hand.

About

I draw it, then I make it move

I'm a junior 3D designer working in exhibition, experiential and spatial design, based in London. I take a space from concept through to a working physical build.

I model and draw in Rhino and Fusion 360, take the drawings straight to the laser cutter and the 3D printer, and build the result. Where a piece needs to move or respond, I do the mechanical design, the electronics and the timing myself — servos, sensors, motor control, real-time visuals.

Most recently I was the appointed design lead on a five-person interactive installation team, working across mechanism, lighting, mist and hand-crocheted textile. Before that I built a full-scale cable-driven wearable, and an EEG-driven multi-screen installation that was shown publicly for twenty days.

I'm currently learning SketchUp and AutoCAD to work to construction-drawing standard.
